![]() ![]() ![]() There are many interpretations out there about the meaning behind this story and what or who the tree represents. ![]() I won't spoil how it ends but it's very thought-provoking and not your average children's story. Each time the tree gives part of itself to make the boy happy. Instead of playing with his friend, however, he just tells it about his problems and asks for things. At various points in his life he returns to the tree after a long absence. The boy starts out playing with the tree but, as he grows older, he spends less time with his tree friend. The story, for those who never read the book, is about the relationship between a boy and an apple tree throughout the boy's life. Animated short based on Shel Silverstein's classic children's book "The Giving Tree." Silverstein provides narration over crude animation with a harmonica playing in the background. ![]() ![]() ![]() Disagreement is fine as long as you can disagree without resorting to invalidating someone else’s experiences or personalĢ: As mutual respect is important for the sub. ![]()

I was the nerdy kid at school who researched everything. I also loved Gabriela, the human who wants to be in on everything. Her brothers are realistic in their behaviors-I have three older brothers of my own so I can verify this was an accurate portrayal of annoying siblings. She comes across as a vain and shallow little rich kid, but the fact that she knows it, and actively cultivates the image, makes all the difference. Now, it’s not exactly a ground-breaking plot, and it’s pretty simplistic and obvious, but on the whole the enjoyment factor was definitely there.Īs a short, fun little read, it’s well worth a go!ĭad always says that executing a heist is like a chess game: you plan for every contingency, and you have backup plans. ![]() There’s a wonderful sense of humor throughout the story that just livens up the whole thing. ![]() I didn’t have high hopes for the book at all, but it surprised me and turned out to be actually good.
